About Koggala Lake
Kurulu Bay is nestled in Koggala—a little seaside town bound by reed one side and Sri Lanka’s largest, and one of its most scenic lakes, Koggala Lake, on the other side. Just a stone’s throw away of some of the most beautiful beaches the South Coast has to offer, Koggala itself is alive with birdlife and dotted with mangroves and islands hosting spices, Buddhist temples and a bird sanctuary.
Enjoy a boat ride on the lake passing by and stopping for short visits of a few islands of learn about cinnamon production, growing spice gardens and visit and old temple with ancient wall paintings.
